Easily one of the world’s best writers on visual culture, Rick Poynor, has posted a 10,000 word close reading of Inkahoots on Design Observer. It was commissioned by the University of Western Sydney way back in 2001, so for us it is a strange time-capsule. Although close scrutiny is rarely comfortable, it can begrudgingly be very valuable. This was a critical and thorough essay, of which there are far too few about these sorts of things. Shorter versions were published in Eye magazine and Rick’s book Designing Pornotopia.
